As the glass door of the Anderson Thrift Shoppe began to close, the tiny bell above it tinkled. A cool wintery breeze slipped in through the door, causing the bright discount signs to sway from their strings attached to the ceiling. An impish grin caressed Grace Adilida's face as she sneaked around the large racks of color arranged clothing, her baby blues lighting up as she saw the familiar form of Beck Anderson behind the counter. His warm chestnut gaze was upon the latest customer, an elderly woman otherwise known as Wanda, Beverly's grandma.
He exclaimed brightly as he folded her rather vibrant selection of sweaters, " Do you mind if I put these in a plastic crinkle bag, Mrs. Modesto? Our shipment of paper ones hasn't arrived yet."
She swatted her hand away dismissively, " Whatever's easiest, deary, and for Heaven's sake! Call me Wanda! It's not like I haven't known you since you were a little tike or anything. " She rolled her eyes.
A pleasant blush warmed his cheeks, " I know, Mrs. Mod- I mean, Wanda. Sorry. "
By now, Grace has snuck around the counter and was right behind Beck, her mouth curved up mischievously. Wanda caught her gaze and winked at her, before saying to Beck, " No worries, love, but I must warn you, there's this rather determined looking blonde haired, blue eyed girl behind you. I think you may know her, but she looks a little off her rocker. I'd kick her out of the store if I were you."
She chuckled sarcastically before collecting her crinkly, plastic bundle.
" Au revoir! Have fun, kiddies! " She yelled to them as she slipped out the door and into the windy chill.
Beck waved goodbye briefly before turning on his heel to see Grace sitting on the bright orange counter, her head tilted to the side, making her resemble some sort of adorable puppy.
" Heya! " She said brightly, her arms wrapping around Beck's waist. His smile broadened, looking up for a moment to see if anyone of the select three customers in the store ( or his mom ) noticed them, before wrapping his own arms around her waist, bending his head down and resting his forehead against hers.
"  ' Heya ' to you too. I've been thinking about you all day, " he exclaimed through his smile, his arms wrapping around her back, bringing her closer to him, so she was on the very edge of the counter. Beck brought one hand up and used it to tip her head back, pressing his lips to hers softly, pleasantly. Her hand slid along his side until it reached the center of his back, her fingertips curling into the ' Anderson Thrift Store ' employee shirt. Beck's hand traversed its way into her golden locks, curling them around his fingertips.
In the background, they heard someone clear their throat.
Breaking apart with warm, embarrassed, rosy hues on their cheeks, they both looked up to see Mrs. Anderson rolling her eyes at them.
" Teenagers! Hanging around in my thrift store, flirting in the parking lot, making out on my counters, what am I to do?" She let out a long sarcastic sigh, as Beck murmured a soft, " Sorry, Mom, " through a small smile.
" Sorry.. " Grace said, blushing crimson.
" You know what? I think I know what I'll do! " Appearing from behind her back, she threw something to Grace, which she caught and began to unfurl. It was one of the employee t-shirts.
" I think I'll give you a job, Grace. I love you, my son obviously loves you, you're here all the time anyways, what's the harm of working in close proximity to Beck as well as making money whilst doing it? "
Grace looked up with a huge smile, almost big enough to split her face in two. Beck looked astonished, his eyes bright and a smile warming his lips. Grace lurched herself in Mrs. Anderson's direction, her arms wrapping around the middle-aged woman tightly. She graciously accepted the hug, embracing the young girl tightly. Over her shoulder, Mrs. Anderson glimpsed her son, who mouthed two words to her with his slightly dimpled smile, ' Thank you. '
Hey! I know I haven't written in ages, so I decided to utilize one of the ideas before and write about BECK AND GRACE <3 I missed them. I neglected them. I am so sorry.
By the way, the title is from Barry Louis Polisar's song from Juno called All I Want Is You. It's a really cute.. I really like the lyrics, because it shows how compatible the two people are, how hopelessly in love and all that jazz, and when I think of the whole two-peas-in-a-pod thing, I think Beck and Grace, since I wanted them to be the perfect couple from the beginning <3
